Mount Carmel College for Women, managed by the Congregation of the Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa, was established in 1948, to meet the escalating demand for women’s education in India.

We are a minority institution primarily for Catholic students but open our portals for those form all other castes and creeds, in the spirit of service. The college derives inspiration from the Person and teaching of Jesus Christ, Universal Master and Model of Education, in its mission of empowerment of the girl child through education.

Initially affiliated to Mysore University, the college was later affiliated to Bangalore University, which was established in 1964. Honours
